A payments testing platform used by banks and fintechs, lifted from a 2000s desktop app into a responsive web product.

Challenge
PaySim is the default standard for eftpos testing in Australia, and it still ran as a Windows desktop app from the 2000s. Modernising it could not come at the cost of the workflows power users rely on daily.
Solution
I mapped every existing flow input by input and counted the clicks each took, so improvement could be measured rather than assumed. The redesign leads with new users through clearer grouping, while power users keep familiar page locations and keyboard shortcuts.
Outcomes
A noticeable increase in new users since the redesign went live, without power users losing the speed they had in the desktop tool.
